Creative short stories based on everyday people and taking a snapshot of a time in their life journey.
The first one is a poignant story of Wanji, a first generation Ugandan immigrant to London in the late 1970s and how she tries to learn but also unlearn traditions in order to find her own way in her marriage and in this new country.
Synopsis: This is Wanji’s story. She grew up in a polygamous household in her native Uganda, where she initially questions the traditions and lessons on her duty as a woman. She carries these lessons with her when she grows up and moves to 1980s West London. At first, she’s ready to put up with anything, until she ventures out, is introduced to different perspectives, learns about herself, her self-worth and starts changing the game.
